WOW!! Two stunningly beautiful films by Zhang Yimou. I'm a romantic and also very visual person, and can forgive a film quite a lot if it just looks very good. Both of these films seems to have been just tailor-made for me. Both of the bilms had very good actors (Tony Leung, Maggie Cheung, Andy Lau, Zhang Ziyi, etc.) and good stories ( Read more... )

SholayJust saw it yesterday and loved it. Amitabh and Dharmendra were great as the heroes and Hema Malini and the guy playing Thakur offered great support. Jaya was mostly wasted, offering only longing glances at Amitabh as a grieving widow, though the ending of the film was made more poignant by her situation ( Read more... )
